The NuVasive® Surgeon Education mission is to optimize patient outcomes, surgical reproducibility, and procedural efficiency of minimally disruptive techniques by systematically imparting new technology and procedural best practices. NuVasive procedures are taught in a step-by-step reproducible process, using tools provided by NuVasive for appreciation of best practices, discussion of ideal applications, and continued opportunities for advanced learning. This unique educational platform is personalized with ongoing support to assist surgeons by providing Absolute Responsiveness® in meeting their patients’ needs on-site, off-site, or online.
The NuVasive Marquis Visit Program provides surgeons with a personalized training experience using NuVasive products and procedures in a fully equipped, simulated O.R. setting. Each visit includes surgical instruction on the latest, innovative techniques, including XLIF®, by a highly trained surgeon proctor.
Additionally, the surgeon will receive an introduction to NuVasive via a corporate overview, clinical and product discussions, and interaction with senior leaders.
The cornerstone of the MVP is focused, hands-on cadaveric experience in a NuVasive state-of-the-art Operating Room. The lab experience is proctored by a highly experienced surgeon and facilitated by NuVasive engineers and product managers, who are integral to the product development process. Both training facilities, NuVasive corporate headquarters in San Diego, CA and the Paramus, NJ facility, provide a venue for hands-on training in both individualized and group settings.
Educational activities include didactic presentations, practical skills training, and device utilization in a simulated clinical environment.

BACK TO TOPThrough proctor participation during a live operative case, the Visiting Surgeon program (VSP) can help expand your familiarization with NuVasive procedures. Opportunities include the ability to scrub-in with the proctor or have a proctor surgeon visit for assistance on a first case.
To make training more convenient for those who cannot travel to one of the NuVasive corporate facilities, cadaveric lab training will occasionally be held at alternate locations. Surgeon proctors and a professional lab team lead remote labs with the goal of replicating the educational experience offered in our corporate, simulated clinical environment.
